In a significant victory against the illegal drug trade, a joint operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Agusan del Norte Provincial Office (ADNPO) successfully dismantled a drug den in Purok 2, Barangay Bancasi, Butuan City. The raid, which took place at 10:30 PM, resulted in the arrest of seven individuals and the confiscation of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The operation was conducted with the collaboration of the Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) and Butuan City Police Station 3 (BCPS 3), following the issuance of a search warrant. The raid was authorized by PDEA RO XIII Regional Director, Dir. III Charlene R. Magdurulang, MPA.
Authorities apprehended seven suspects identified as Allan Albaracin Sr., Aljon Junio, Allan Albaracin Jr., Arnel Albaracin, Dante Umpad, Jay Norman Apostol, and Joselito Pahilangco. The raid led to the confiscation of four heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php68,000. Also recovered were various drug paraphernalia, including an improvised bamboo sealer, a glass pipe, and several fifty-peso bills.
The suspects are currently detained at the PDEA RO XIII Custodial Facility, where they face multiple criminal charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), as amended.
PDEA commended the teamwork between local law enforcement agencies in their continuous efforts to eradicate illegal drugs in the region. This operation marks another step forward in the ongoing campaign to ensure the safety and security of the community.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in drug-related activities.
