Maguindanao del Sur – PCOL Roel R. Sermese, Provincial Director of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO), vehemently condemned the killing of Barangay Kagawad Elvin M. Moires in Brgy. Bongo, South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur on September 17, 2024, at approximately 11:30 PM.
The victim, identified by the South Upi Municipal Police Station (MPS) as Elvin M. Moires, 55, a widower and incumbent Barangay Kagawad of Brgy. Bongo, was shot by unidentified suspects. In response to this tragic incident, the Maguindanao del Sur PPO has established a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) MOIRES, led by PCOL Sermese as Task Force Commander, to conduct a thorough investigation aimed at locating and identifying the perpetrators and filing appropriate charges in court.
“We are sparing no effort in our quest to gather substantial evidence and testimonies to shed light on this incident and put the perpetrators behind bars,” stated PCOL Sermese.
The Maguindanao del Sur PPO is calling upon the public to provide any information that may be crucial to solving this case. PCOL Sermese emphasized the importance of community cooperation in protecting the province against violence and achieving a peaceful community.
