CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Personnel from the 1st Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), in collaboration with Malaybalay City Police Station (CPS) and Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit (BUK-PIU), successfully arrested a former rebel on September 22, 2024. The arrest took place at the 1st Bukidnon PMFC headquarters in Barangay 7, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
The former rebel, identified as alias “Porpor,” is a 50-year-old farmer from Barangay Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon. He previously served as a commanding officer of SPP5 under the dismantled Guerrilla Front 6, Sub-Regional Command 2 of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).
Porpor was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crimes of Murder, Frustrated Murder, and Multiple Attempted Murder, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 32711-18, 32713-18, and 32712-18.
Records indicate that Porpor surrendered to authorities in 2021 and subsequently assisted the police by encouraging other members of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) to surrender as well. However, a review of the e-warrant system in August 2024 revealed that he had an outstanding warrant of arrest.
The accused is currently under the custody of the 1st Bukidnon PMFC for documentation and proper disposition.
PBGEN Ricardo G. Layug, Jr., Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), emphasized the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) commitment to pursuing individuals with outstanding warrants to uphold justice and ensure accountability for serious criminal offenses.
“We will continue our relentless pursuit of those with outstanding warrants, as we work to maintain peace and order throughout Region 10. Let this serve as a reminder that justice will always catch up with those who violate the law, no matter how long it takes,” he stated.
