In a significant breakthrough against illegal drug activities, the Maramag Municipal Police Station (MPS) successfully apprehended a drug suspect and seized a substantial amount of shabu worth ₱306,000 during a buy-bust operation in Purok 7, Dagumbaan, Maramag, Bukidnon.
The suspect, identified as “Felmar,” a 41-year-old resident of the area, is married, unemployed, and undergoing dialysis treatment. Authorities disclosed that Felmar allegedly resorted to selling illegal drugs to cover his medical expenses.
During the operation, police confiscated four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing 45 grams. Also recovered was a ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
The suspect and the seized items were brought to the Maramag Police Station for proper documentation and legal disposition.
PBGEN Ricardo G. Layug, Jr., the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), praised the Maramag police for their dedication to eradicating illegal drugs in the region.
“I commend the Maramag MPS for their unwavering commitment to fighting the illegal drug trade. We will continue to intensify our anti-drug operations and collaborate with communities and other law enforcement agencies to safeguard the well-being of every citizen in Region 10,” said Layug.
The successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Bukidnon’s law enforcement agencies in tackling illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and security of the public. Investigations are still ongoing regarding the extent of the suspect’s involvement in the illegal drug trade.
