Iligan City, August 30, 2024 — A regional drug personality was apprehended last night during a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region X Lanao del Norte Provincial Office, alongside its Seaport Interdiction Unit (SIU). The operation was carried out in coordination with the Iligan City Police Office – Police Station 2 (PS2) and the PNP Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU).
The operation took place in Barangay Suarez, Iligan City, leading to the arrest of a suspect known by the alias “Rocky.” The 40-year-old, single, and a resident of Barangay Suarez, is now facing charges for violations under Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
During the operation, authorities confiscated approximately 13 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 88,400.
This arrest highlights the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies in the region to combat the illegal drug trade and safeguard the community from its dangers.
