Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat — Joint police operatives successfully seized firearms and explosives during the implementation of a search warrant in Purok Mohammedan, Barangay Matiompong, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat on April 9, 2025.

The operation, carried out by personnel from the Lambayong Municipal Police Station (MPS), Sultan Kudarat Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (SKPIU/PDEU), and the 1st Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st SKPMFC), was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by Hon. Jose Emmanuel D. Jabido, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 20, 12th Judicial Region, Tacurong City.

Authorities recovered the following items during the operation:

  • One unit caliber .45 COLT pistol bearing serial number 407815, along with a steel magazine loaded with three live rounds of .45 caliber ammunition;
  • One F1 hand grenade;
  • One black sling.

Upon the discovery of the explosive device, the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (SKPECU) was called in to safely neutralize the grenade.

The subject of the search, a 35-year-old married farmer and resident of the area, was present during the inventory of the seized items. The suspect, along with the confiscated evidence, was brought to the Lambayong MPS for proper documentation and legal processing.

Sultan Kudarat Provincial Director PCOL Bernard L. Lao commended the personnel for the successful operation and reaffirmed the commitment of the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office (PPO) to intensify efforts against the proliferation of illegal firearms and explosives, especially in light of the ongoing election period.

“The safety and security of the community remain our top priority,” Lao emphasized, as police operations continue to safeguard residents against threats posed by illegal weapons.
