Koronadal City – A drug suspect was arrested, and illegal drugs worth Php 136,000 were confiscated in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) on March 27, 2025, in Purok Sanz, Barangay San Roque, Koronadal City.
The operation was carried out by joint elements of the Koronadal City Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO), and the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 12, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Procopio,” a 36-year-old unemployed resident of Purok Malipayon, Barangay Ambalgan, Sto. Niño, South Cotabato. He was listed as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) by the PDEA.
Recovered from his possession were three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 20 grams, along with a one-thousand-peso bill used as buy-bust money. The suspect and the confiscated drug evidence were brought to the Koronadal City Police Station for proper documentation and legal proceedings.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the region. “Police Regional Office 12 is deeply committed to removing the danger of illegal drugs, knowing they have no place in our communities. With the strong support of our partners, we are dedicated to creating a safe, drug-free environment for everyone, and we will continue to work tirelessly until this threat is completely gone,” he stated.
The successful operation is part of PRO 12’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs under its “Service Beyond Our Badge: Alternative Policing Approach” initiative. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain peace and order in the community.
