Davao City has recorded a steady increase in its local revenue collection over the past three years, highlighting the city’s robust fiscal management and commitment to efficient governance.
The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) reported that the city’s total local source revenue collection reached P5.17 billion in 2022, with local taxes contributing the largest share at P3.93 billion. This figure saw a 12.50 percent increase in 2023, bringing the total collection to P5.82 billion. The upward trend continued in 2024, with the collection further growing to P5.97 billion.
In terms of total revenue collection, the CTO recorded P13.41 billion in 2024, surpassing the previous year’s figures by 4.53 percent. The city government attributed this achievement to the diligent tax compliance of Dabawenyos, ensuring continued funding for essential services and infrastructure development.
Recognizing the city’s sound financial management, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded Davao City the Good Financial Housekeeping Seal for CY 2024. This distinction underscores the city’s adherence to accounting and auditing standards, as well as compliance with financial regulations for local government units (LGUs).
The city government expressed its gratitude to the taxpayers and urged them to continue their responsible contributions. The CTO also reaffirmed its commitment to efficient revenue collection and transparent financial stewardship to support the city’s growth.
