Lanao del Sur, Philippines — The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur is gearing up for the continuation of the Development for Renewable Energy Applications Mainstreaming and Market Sustainability (DREAMS) Project. Spearheaded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippines and the Department of Energy, the initiative aims to implement renewable energy solutions in selected government medical facilities across the province. The project is set to commence in the first quarter of 2025.

This morning, key members of the DREAMS Core Group convened at the Provincial Engineer’s Office Conference Room to discuss the upcoming phase of the project. The meeting was attended by Provincial Engineer Dimasira Macabando, Jr., Assistant Provincial Engineer Abdulkhalid Usman, Provincial Information Officer Salma Jayne Tamano, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Pili Papandayan, and PIO staff Mariam D. Hadji Malik and Shahaya T. Papandayan.

Discussions revolved around preparation strategies, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring the project’s successful implementation. The DREAMS project aims to enhance the energy resilience of medical facilities, enabling them to deliver critical healthcare services sustainably and efficiently.

Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr. has been a staunch advocate for developmental initiatives in Lanao del Sur, leveraging partnerships with UNDP Philippines to advance key projects. These efforts span various areas, including women’s empowerment, peace and security, renewable energy, Marawi rehabilitation, economic recovery, and institutional development.

The DREAMS Project marks another significant milestone in the province’s commitment to sustainable development. By integrating renewable energy into essential services, the project aligns with global efforts to combat climate change while addressing the immediate needs of the community.

More updates on the project’s progress and impact will be provided as the implementation begins in 2025.
