Sarangani Province, Philippines — In a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs, one high-value individual (HVI) voluntarily surrendered to the Glan Municipal Police Station on December 18, 2024. This development underscores the effectiveness of the Sarangani Police Provincial Office’s relentless anti-illegal drug campaign.

The surrenderer, identified only as alias “John,” is a 24-year-old male resident of Purok Malaumon, Barangay Mudan, Glan, Sarangani Province. According to authorities, he was allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.

The voluntary surrender was facilitated by Barangay Mudan’s elected officials, led by Kagawad Josephine Unda, who worked closely with the surrenderer’s family to ensure his safe and orderly submission to law enforcement.

Alias “John” will be recommended to undergo the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) to aid his reintegration into society and support his journey toward recovery. The CBDRP has been a cornerstone in addressing the root causes of drug dependency and reducing the prevalence of illegal drugs in the community.

Sarangani Police Provincial Office reiterated its commitment to eradicating illegal drugs through community collaboration and sustained efforts. The surrender of a high-value individual highlights the importance of proactive community engagement and the role of local leaders in combating this pervasive issue.

Authorities encourage other individuals involved in illegal drugs to come forward and avail of rehabilitation opportunities as part of the government’s holistic approach to tackling the drug problem.
