PANABO CITY, Davao del Norte — Authorities arrested a suspected high-value drug personality and confiscated approximately 226 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated ₱1.53 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Vicente, Panabo City, on November 4, 2026.

The operation, reported on November 5, involved personnel from the Panabo City Police Station, the 2nd Davao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Authorities reported that the operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 226 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱1,536,800.
The arrested individual was classified by law enforcement as a high-value individual (HVI), a designation used for suspected drug personalities believed to be involved in significant illegal drug activities. However, authorities have yet to provide further details regarding the suspect’s identity, alleged role in the drug trade, or possible connections to a larger distribution network.
The substantial volume and estimated street value of the confiscated substance underscore the continuing efforts of law enforcement agencies to disrupt the illegal drug supply in Davao del Norte. The operation also highlights the importance of coordination among local police units, provincial mobile forces, and anti-narcotics authorities in conducting targeted enforcement activities.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it would sustain its campaign against illegal drugs through focused, intelligence-driven, and accountable police operations, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen peace and order and promote safer communities.
The operation forms part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which emphasizes coordinated, intelligence-led, and results-oriented interventions.
Under this framework, police operations are expected to balance operational effectiveness with respect for human rights and adherence to due process.
The arrest and seizure represent another enforcement action in the government’s continuing anti-illegal drugs campaign. However, the case will still have to undergo the appropriate legal proceedings, and the allegations against the arrested individual remain subject to judicial determination.
