KIDAPAWAN CITY, COTABATO — A pregnant woman was reportedly found dead inside her mini multicab after allegedly sustaining stab wounds in Purok 8B, Barangay Sudapin, Kidapawan City, in the early hours of Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Initial information indicated that the victim was discovered inside the vehicle in an area behind the University of Southern Mindanao (USM). She reportedly suffered multiple stab wounds that resulted in her death.

Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including how the assailant or assailants gained access to the vehicle and what may have preceded the reported stabbing.

The Kidapawan City Police Station is currently looking into at least two possible motives: a possible robbery or hold-up, and a personal dispute, including a possible love-triangle angle. These remain investigative leads and have not been established as the actual motive of the killing.

Authorities are also reportedly verifying information concerning a possible sexual assault. Police have yet to confirm whether such an incident occurred, and investigators are expected to rely on forensic findings, witness accounts and other evidence before drawing conclusions.

The victim was reportedly left inside the vehicle after the incident. Police are continuing to gather information and evidence from the area in an effort to establish a clear timeline, identify the person or persons responsible and determine the circumstances that led to the killing.

Investigators are expected to examine the vehicle and surrounding area for possible forensic evidence, while also checking available surveillance footage and seeking statements from witnesses or individuals who may have information about the incident.

Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to coordinate with the Kidapawan City police as the investigation continues.

The reported killing remains under investigation, and the possible motives being examined by police should not be treated as confirmed until investigators establish the facts.
