CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY / GENERAL SANTOS CITY — September 16, 2026 — A total of 479 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen formally entered the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday as Police Regional Offices 10 and 12 separately conducted oath-taking ceremonies for their respective CY 2026 Regular and Attrition Quota recruits.
In Northern Mindanao, 235 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen took their oath during the Oath-Taking and Turnover Ceremony held at the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10) RHQ Grandstand, Camp 1Lt Vicente G. Alagar.
PBGEN Nestor C. Babagay Jr., Regional Director of PRO 10, served as the administering officer and welcomed the new police personnel as they officially began their careers in the PNP.
Of the 235 new personnel in PRO 10, 92 were appointed under the regular quota, comprising 80 males and 12 females, while 143 were appointed under the attrition quota, consisting of 122 males and 21 females.
The regular quota also included 22 excess male applicants from other police regional offices who were patched to PRO 10’s regular recruitment allocation. These included 14 applicants from PRO 13 and eight from PRO 11.
The new Patrolmen and Patrolwomen will receive a monthly base pay of P31,151, in addition to a P350 daily subsistence allowance and other authorized compensation and benefits provided under the government’s compensation system for military and uniformed personnel.
These benefits include applicable allowances and bonuses, government contributions, insurance coverage, and other benefits granted to qualified PNP personnel.
During the PRO 10 ceremony, PBGEN Babagay also delivered the message of Chief, PNP PGEN Jose Melencio Corpuz Nartatez Jr., who emphasized that joining the police service is not merely an employment opportunity but a responsibility tied to the public’s trust.
“Your appointment today is both an opportunity and a responsibility. As you begin your journey in the PNP, always remember that your uniform represents the trust of the Filipino people. Serve with discipline, integrity, competence, and genuine commitment,” Nartatez said.
Meanwhile, in General Santos City, another 244 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen took their oath during a ceremony at the PRO 12 Grandstand, Camp Gen. Paulino T. Santos, Tambler.
The ceremony was presided over by PBGEN Alan B. Manibog, Regional Director of PRO 12.
The 244 new personnel are likewise part of the CY 2026 Attrition and Regular Quota Recruitment Program, formally marking their entry into the PNP and the start of their careers in public service.
In his message, Manibog underscored the responsibility that comes with wearing the PNP uniform, reminding the recruits that police service requires them to uphold the law, protect the public and perform their duties with integrity and dedication.
“Ang pagiging pulis ay isang panata sa bayan. Sa araw na ito, dala ninyo ang tiwala ng ating mga kababayan. Panatilihin ninyo ang integridad, maging makatarungan sa inyong mga kilos, at laging unahin ang kapakanan ng taong inyong pinagsisilbihan,” Manibog said.
The simultaneous addition of new personnel in PRO 10 and PRO 12 reflects the continuing nationwide effort to strengthen police manpower through regular recruitment and attrition replacement.
For the new recruits, however, the oath-taking represents more than the completion of a recruitment process. It marks the beginning of a career in which their conduct, professionalism and performance will directly shape the public’s experience of police service.
Both regional offices emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, competence and dedication as the new personnel assume their responsibilities in their respective areas of assignment.
The activities are part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of the Focused Agenda of the Chief, PNP, anchored on the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas and its commitment to provide “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
