DATU MONTAWAL, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR — A still-unidentified man selling malunggay-pandesal was shot dead in Barangay Bulit, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao del Sur, on the morning of August 17, 2026, according to initial information from authorities.

The victim was reportedly attacked while engaged in his usual bread-selling activity in the area. He was found after the shooting, prompting police personnel to respond and conduct an initial investigation into the incident.

Authorities have yet to establish the victim’s identity. Initial information indicated that he was not carrying an identification card or other document that could immediately establish his name or place of origin.

Police are now working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the identity of the gunman and the possible motive behind the attack.
