KABACAN, COTABATO — August 14, 2026 — A total of 132 motorcycles and 11 motorcycles with sidecars were impounded by the Kabacan Municipal Police Station (MPS) during the implementation of Oplan Lambat-Bitag Sasakyan Reloaded, as police intensified enforcement against motorists violating traffic laws.
According to the Kabacan MPS, the operation focused on motorcycles found to have traffic-related violations, with the most common offenses involving driving without a valid driver’s license and motorcycles with expired Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration (OR/CR). The enforcement effort was also aimed at addressing the possible use of stolen, undocumented, or improperly registered motorcycles in the commission of crimes.
Police Provincial Director PCOL Ramel B. Hojilla said the campaign forms part of the Cotabato Police Provincial Office’s intensified anti-crime efforts, emphasizing that strict traffic enforcement and public cooperation are important in maintaining safer roads and preventing motorcycles with questionable documentation from being used for criminal activities.
Kabacan Chief of Police PLTCol April Lou M. Palma described Oplan Lambat-Bitag as a targeted anti-crime campaign designed to help prevent various offenses involving stolen motorcycles or vehicles lacking the required documents. The operation, she said, is not limited to traffic enforcement but also supports broader police efforts to deter criminal activity.
Kabacan Mayor Evangeline Pascua-Guzman thanked the Kabacan police for enforcing traffic laws and acknowledged the cooperation of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) members from different barangays who assisted in the campaign. She said the local government would continue supporting stricter initiatives intended to maintain peace, order, and public safety in the municipality.
Kabacan Vice Mayor and Peace and Order Czar Herlo P. Guzman Jr. likewise appealed to motorists and residents to understand and cooperate with the enforcement campaign, stressing that the measures are being implemented for the safety and welfare of the people of Kabacan.
The police operation serves as a reminder to motorcycle owners and riders to ensure that they carry a valid driver’s license and that their vehicles have updated and proper registration documents before using public roads. Authorities also urged the public to comply with traffic regulations, noting that proper documentation and responsible driving are essential not only for avoiding penalties but also for helping keep roads and communities safe.
