DATU HOFFER, Maguindanao del Sur — August 14, 2026 — Police personnel recovered an M1 Garand Springfield U.S. rifle and eight rounds of ammunition during the implementation of a warrant of arrest in Sitio Datarmanga, Barangay Limpongo, Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur, early Friday morning.
The operation was carried out at approximately 5:30 a.m. by a composite team from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd PMFC) of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office. The team was led by personnel from the Office of the Force Commander, with members of the 2nd Maneuver Platoon (2nd MP) also taking part in the operation.
According to the police report, the operation was conducted as part of the lawful implementation of a Warrant of Arrest. During the operation, the police team recovered one M1 Garand Springfield U.S. Rifle, bearing serial number 1836226.
The firearm was found together with eight rounds of ammunition and a clip, which were also recovered by the operating team.
Police said the recovered firearm and ammunition were secured and properly documented for appropriate disposition in accordance with existing procedures. The report did not provide further details regarding the individual named in the warrant or whether separate charges would be filed in connection with the recovered firearm and ammunition.
