GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A suspected drug personality was arrested while illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm were confiscated during the implementation of a search warrant by the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) in Barangay Dadiangas West on July 17, 2026.

The operation was carried out by personnel of Police Station 1, GSCPO, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 12, as part of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms.

Authorities served a search warrant for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at the residence of a suspect identified only by the alias “Bulao” in Barangay Dadiangas West.

During the search, operatives recovered two sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately three grams, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱20,000.

In addition to the illegal drugs, law enforcers also discovered one homemade caliber .38 revolver concealed inside the wooden walling of the suspect’s house, leading to an additional firearms violation.

The suspect was immediately taken into the custody of Police Station 1, GSCPO, and is now facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 and Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Police said the successful operation highlights the close coordination between the Philippine National Police and PDEA in dismantling illegal drug activities while simultaneously removing unlicensed firearms from communities.

Police Brigadier General Alan B. Manibog, Assistant Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12), emphasized that law enforcement authorities will continue to pursue individuals involved in illegal drugs and firearms regardless of where they attempt to hide.

“No home is a safe haven for illegal drugs and firearms. We will continue to enforce the law to keep our communities safe,” PBGen. Manibog said.

The operation forms part of PRO 12’s sustained anti-criminality campaign aimed at suppressing illegal drug operations, curbing the proliferation of loose firearms, and enhancing public safety throughout the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.

Authorities also urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting illegal drug activities and the presence of unlicensed firearms, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in maintaining peace and order.
