CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Authorities arrested two suspected drug personalities, including an alleged High-Value Individual (HVI), during a joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Calaanan, Barangay Canitoan, this city, on Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 2026.

Now detained at the custody facility of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (CDEU-COCPO), the suspects were identified by Police Major Aldren Estrada Baculio, chief of the CDEU, as Eduardo Galope Cabalo Jr., 32, single, and tagged by authorities as an HVI in the illegal drug trade, along with his alleged cohort, Marjun Kionisala Ebdao, 34, married. Both are residents of the said area.
According to the police report, the buy-bust operation was launched at around 4:12 p.m. by operatives of the CDEU-COCPO in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10 RSET ALPHA) and the City Mobile Force Company (CMFC-COCPO), following prior coordination with PDEA-10.
Authorities said the operation resulted in the confiscation of several pieces of evidence linked to the alleged illegal drug transaction, including one sachet of suspected shabu used as the buy-bust item, five additional sachets containing suspected shabu, a marked ₱500 bill used as buy-bust money, a coin purse, and an Android cellular phone believed to have been used in the suspects’ alleged illegal activities.
Police estimated the total weight of the seized suspected shabu at around 55 grams, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to approximately ₱374,000.
The arrested suspects are currently under the custody of the CDEU while authorities prepare the necessary documentation and charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation forms part of the continuing intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of law enforcement agencies in Northern Mindanao aimed at dismantling local drug networks and apprehending individuals involved in the proliferation of prohibited substances in urban communities.
