DON CARLOS, Bukidnon — A 27-year-old man was hospitalized after being attacked and slashed by his drinking companion during a heated altercation on the night of April 26 in Purok 4, Barangay Bizmarts.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 9:45 p.m. while the victim and the 41-year-old suspect were engaged in a drinking session. What began as a casual gathering escalated into a violent confrontation after a dispute, reportedly fueled by jealousy, broke out between the two.
Authorities said the argument intensified rapidly, prompting the suspect to draw a bladed weapon and attack the victim. The latter sustained injuries to his right arm and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. He is currently in stable condition, police confirmed.
Responding swiftly, personnel from the Don Carlos Municipal Police Station launched a hot pursuit operation, leading to the prompt arrest of the suspect shortly after the incident. The weapon used in the attack, believed to be a knife, was recovered at the crime scene.
Police are now preparing the necessary documentation to file appropriate charges against the suspect, who remains in custody.
The incident underscores the dangers of alcohol-fueled disputes, as authorities continue to urge the public to exercise restraint and seek peaceful resolutions to conflicts.
