CAMP DARAPANAN, Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao del Norte — Commander Hadji Basser Ampat on Friday led a live-fire training activity for more than 100 BIWAB Medical Troops of the 9th Brigade, Inner Defense, Inner Guard Based Command of the National Guard Front of the BIAF–Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), underscoring efforts to strengthen operational readiness while supporting peace and humanitarian service in the Bangsamoro.

The firing exercise was conducted on the morning of January 3, 2026, in Barangay Panambakan within Camp Darapanan. Officials said the activity aimed to further enhance the discipline, coordination, and preparedness of BIWAB Medical Troops, particularly in ensuring security and protection as they carry out medical and humanitarian duties in various field operations in support of the Bangsamoro Government and the peace process.

Commander Ampat emphasized the importance of proper training, strict adherence to safety protocols, and professionalism in all operations. He noted that while the unit’s primary mandate is to deliver medical assistance and humanitarian services, situational readiness remains essential to safeguard personnel and ensure uninterrupted service amid evolving security challenges. “Preparedness is key to fulfilling our mission responsibly while remaining committed to peace-building,” he said.

The training concluded successfully without any untoward incident. Participants expressed gratitude to their leadership for the continued capacity-building initiatives, describing the exercise as vital in reinforcing confidence, unity, and operational effectiveness among BIWAB Medical Troops as they continue to serve communities and contribute to lasting peace in the Bangsamoro region.
