CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 10 has issued a Show Cause Order against the registered owner and driver of a white Isuzu pick-up who was caught on video brandishing a firearm and making an obscene hand gesture toward another motorist on December 29, 2025.

Regional Director Nelson S. Manaloto confirmed that both the vehicle’s owner and the female driver involved in the viral road-rage incident have been ordered to appear before the agency to justify why her driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked.

The LTO has already placed the vehicle under alarm, preventing it from being processed for any transaction or transfer until the case is resolved.

According to LTO, the act of pointing a pistol at another motorist poses a serious threat to public safety and may constitute multiple violations, including grave misconduct under land transport regulations. The obscene gesture further aggravated the confrontation, which has since sparked public outrage online.

The enforcement action comes as LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, leads a nationwide crackdown on road-rage incidents, emphasizing discipline, emotional maturity, and respect among motorists.

“Driving is a privilege that must be exercised responsibly,” LTO Region 10 stated, reminding motorists to strictly observe traffic rules and prioritize road safety at all times.

Authorities are also coordinating with law enforcement to determine whether the firearm was licensed and handled legally.

The LTO is urging the public to report aggressive and dangerous behavior on the road as the agency continues to intensify efforts to deter reckless driving and violence in the country’s highways.
