MAMASAPANO, Maguindanao del Sur — One man was killed while two others narrowly survived after their vehicle was ambushed by armed assailants on Sunday night, December 21, 2025, in Sitio Paso, Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur.
The victims were reportedly on board a vehicle when unidentified gunmen opened fire, killing one of the occupants on the spot and leaving the two others injured but alive. Authorities identified the fatality as Datu Glock Maulana Jr., a resident of Barangay Zalaka, Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur. The two survivors were also confirmed to be residents of the same barangay.
Initial reports indicate that the attack happened swiftly, giving the victims little chance to evade the gunfire before the suspects fled the scene. Responding authorities immediately secured the area and assisted the victims, while the deceased was later pronounced dead.
Law enforcement agencies have launched a full investigation to determine the motive behind the ambush and to identify those responsible. Possible angles, including personal disputes and other criminal motives, are being examined. Authorities have also intensified security measures in the area as the investigation continues.
