Cagayan de Oro City — December 13, 2025 — Police have confirmed that the husband of a 37-year-old call center agent found brutally slain in Barangay Talisay, Indahag, is the prime suspect in the killing, following his voluntary surrender to authorities on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Gracelyn Agravante Ramayrat, an employee of a major business process outsourcing (BPO) firm in the city. Police Station 2 (Cogon) Commander Police Major Mario Mantala said the suspect is the victim’s own husband, John Lloyd, who turned himself in after investigators recovered a bloodstained jacket and slippers he allegedly left at the crime scene.

Ramayrat was discovered lifeless in a grassy area near a chapel in Talisay, alarming residents who first noticed her body earlier that morning. She sustained multiple stab wounds, particularly in the neck area, indicating a violent and rage-driven attack. Police also noted defensive wounds on her hands, suggesting that the victim attempted to fight back.

Authorities revealed that the couple has three children, all minors, further deepening the tragedy surrounding the case.

According to police, the suspect claimed that the incident happened during a heated argument with his wife, which allegedly escalated into violence. He is now detained and facing formal charges. Investigators are also looking into reports that the suspect may have been under the influence of illegal drugs at the time of the incident, although this angle is still being verified by authorities.

Earlier accounts from the suspect indicated that Ramayrat had been doing laundry prior to the incident, and it remains under investigation how the confrontation led to her death at a location away from their home.

Police said the investigation is ongoing as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing, including possible aggravating factors. Authorities assured the public that justice will be pursued for the victim, as the case underscores the continuing problem of domestic violence escalating into fatal crimes.
