BALIANGAO, Misamis Occidental – Authorities have successfully apprehended two notorious individuals responsible for throwing broken bottles along the streets of Barangay Mitacas, Baliangao, during a recent police operation.

The Baliangao Municipal Police Station intensified mobile patrols after receiving multiple reports of hazardous debris placed on the road, endangering motorists and residents alike. While monitoring the area, officers observed two men hurriedly placing broken bottles into a bag. When approached, the suspects attempted to flee on a motorcycle, prompting a hot pursuit that ended in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Siñan.

Upon inspection, police recovered from one suspect three heat-sealed sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a piece of white paper used as a container, a disposable lighter, aluminum foil, three “soyak” pipes, an improvised knife, and a sling bag with other personal items. The Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle used for their escape was also seized.

Authorities also recovered three bags, including two backpacks, from the second suspect, filled with broken bottles intended to endanger the public. The total amount of the suspected shabu seized was estimated at 0.5 grams, with a street value of approximately ₱2,000.

Both suspects are currently in the custody of the Baliangao Municipal Police Station, where authorities are processing the proper disposition and documentation of the evidence. Police reminded the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to ensure community safety.
