Cotabato City — Anti-drug operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) BARMM seized five kilos of high-grade dried marijuana bricks during a precision interdiction and sweeping operation in Barangay Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The operation, carried out inside a logistics hub, was led by the PDEA Land Transportation Interdiction Unit (LTIU) with crucial support from the PDEA BARMM K9 Unit, Regional Investigation Section, Maguindanao del Norte and del Sur Provincial Offices, and PDEA RSET. Authorities intercepted a suspicious parcel concealed in black bubble wrap, which upon inspection yielded five sealed transparent bags containing the dried marijuana bricks.
The confiscated contraband weighs approximately five kilograms with an estimated street value of ₱600,000.
Initial investigation has identified the alleged consignor as “Joaquin” and the consignee as “Raihana,” who are both now under scrutiny for their suspected roles in the illicit shipment. PDEA operatives are conducting follow-up probes to determine the possible network behind the attempted transport of the illegal drugs.
A criminal complaint for violation of Section 5 (Transportation of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 is now being readied against the suspects as the agency intensifies its campaign against drug trafficking in the region.
