DAVAO DE ORO — Police authorities in Davao de Oro continue to intensify their campaign against illegal drugs following two successful buy-bust operations that resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the confiscation of suspected shabu in the municipalities of Maco and Monkayo.

In Maco, operatives of the Maco Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, apprehended a suspect identified only as alias “Yeng” in Barangay Binuangan during a legitimate buy-bust operation covered by a PDEA Pre-Operation Clearance.
Recovered from the suspect were sachets containing a substance believed to be shabu, a genuine ₱500 bill used as buy-bust money, and a cigarette pack. The suspect and seized items are now under the custody of Maco MPS for proper disposition and filing of charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation on the evening of October 24, 2025, the Monkayo Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and personnel from the 1st Davao de Oro Provincial Mobile Force Company, arrested two suspects identified by their aliases “Markjhun,” 37, and “Joy,” 35, both residents of Barangay Casoon, Monkayo.
Confiscated from their possession were several sachets of suspected shabu, a ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, and a brown pouch. The suspects and evidence are now in police custody for documentation and filing of appropriate charges under Republic Act 9165.

The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs and maintain peace and order across the province. Authorities urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts to ensure a safer and drug-free Davao de Oro.
