BULUAN, Maguindanao del Sur — Two siblings miraculously escaped unharmed after unidentified suspects opened fire at their multicab in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur on Monday afternoon, according to initial police reports.
Based on the report from Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office Spokesperson Capt. Guiseppe Tamayo, responding personnel from the Buluan Municipal Police Station found no individuals at the scene upon arrival, including the two siblings who were reportedly targeted in the shooting.
Authorities discovered two multicabs abandoned at the site, suggesting a possible exchange of gunfire between two unidentified groups prior to the police’s arrival.
Tamayo said that the suspects immediately fled the area when law enforcement responded. Investigators are still determining the identities of those involved, as well as the motive behind the shooting.
The police have yet to confirm whether the siblings were the actual targets of the attack, as an ongoing investigation seeks to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the gunmen or the groups involved to come forward and assist in the investigation.
