Authorities Remind the Public That Help Is Always Available for Those Battling Depression

AURORA, Zamboanga del Sur — A 42-year-old driver was found lifeless inside his home in Barangay Lubid on Thursday morning, October 17, 2025, in what authorities believe to be a case linked to depression.

According to the police report, the victim’s lifeless body was discovered by his sister, who had come to visit him. Upon arriving, she found the front door locked and, after peeking through the window, was shocked to see her brother hanging inside, with a chain tied around his neck.

Responding police officers and the Municipal Health Officer immediately proceeded to the scene and confirmed the victim’s death. Investigations revealed that the man had been suffering from depression, which may have led him to take his own life.

Family members, friends, and neighbors were deeply saddened by the tragedy. His loved ones took to social media to express their grief and longing. His son, Rico, wrote, “Papa, we love you so much. Continue your journey, we will miss you, Pa. I love you. I will miss your smile.” His niece also posted a heartfelt message, saying, “Fly high, Yoyo Rico… Life is precious. Problems can be solved, but life once lost can never be brought back.”
