LANAO DEL SUR — Authorities arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized about Php 170,000 worth of suspected shabu in a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay East Kilikili, Wao, on September 23, 2025.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Jover”, was apprehended after police operatives discovered the illegal substance in his possession. He is currently under custody at the Wao Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), lauded the successful operation and emphasized the police force’s determination to curb the spread of illegal drugs in the region.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to intensify the anti-illegal drug campaign and ensure the safety of our communities,” De Guzman said, while also recognizing the crucial role of community vigilance and cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs.
Authorities said the seized items will undergo proper examination, while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspect.
