Maguindanao del Sur – The Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur, through the Office of the Provincial Administrator, distributed immediate assistance to 18 former violent extremists who have surrendered to authorities, as part of its continuing peace and reintegration efforts.

The initiative underscores the province’s commitment to providing second chances and opportunities for former rebels to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society. Provincial officials emphasized that such efforts not only support the former combatants but also contribute to fostering a safer and more united community.

“This program is a testament to our compassion and support, ensuring that those who once strayed have the chance to start anew and become part of a peaceful Maguindanaon community,” the provincial government said in a statement.

Officials further highlighted that unity and compassion are key to achieving genuine and lasting peace in the region. By extending assistance to surrenderers, the government hopes to pave the way for reconciliation, stability, and stronger social cohesion in Maguindanao del Sur and across the Bangsamoro region.

The provincial leadership reaffirmed its resolve to continue initiatives that promote peacebuilding and sustainable development, stressing that every effort made brings the community closer to long-term peace.
