Maguindanao del Sur – Police authorities intensified their campaign against illegal drugs with a string of successful operations across the province, leading to multiple arrests, the dismantling of a drug den, and the confiscation of a combined over 100 grams of suspected shabu.
On August 28, 2025, joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (MDS PPO), together with the 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFC) and the Guindulungan Municipal Police Station, conducted an operation in Barangay Tambunan II, Guindulungan. Originally aimed at serving a warrant of arrest against a certain “Dok,” the operation instead resulted in the apprehension of two suspects. One, identified only as alias Mohammad, attempted to discard a black chest bag containing suspected shabu, while another, alias Morcid, was caught hiding nearby in possession of more illegal drugs.
A day earlier, on August 27, a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pagagawan, Datu Montawal led to the arrest of a suspect identified as alias Eric. Authorities seized 100 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱150,000 and a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) standard valuation of ₱600,000, along with buy-bust money and paraphernalia.
On the same day, police and anti-narcotics operatives dismantled a drug den in Barangay Old Nunangan, Datu Anggal Midtimbang. The joint operation, involving the PDEA, PIU-MDS, Land Interdiction Unit, and the 12th Mechanized Company, led to the arrest of three suspects identified as Monera, Jordan, and Tanggul, while another suspect was fatally wounded during the operation. Confiscated items included quantities of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and marked money.
PCOL Sultan Salman H. Sapal, Provincial Director of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, lauded the series of operations, calling them a strong blow against the illegal drug trade in the province.
“These operations send a clear message: the Philippine National Police in Maguindanao del Sur will do everything possible to eliminate the proliferation of illegal drugs. Our communities deserve true peace, and we will not allow these criminal activities to persist,” Sapal said.
The suspects are now in police custody, while the seized evidence has been turned over to authorities for proper disposition.
Total Drugs Seized: At least 100 grams of suspected shabu, plus additional quantities confiscated in Guindulungan and Midtimbang.
