CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) arrested two alleged High-Value Individuals (HVIs) and confiscated more than ₱1.6 million worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-drug operations in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental on August 14, 2025.

The first operation unfolded at around 12:17 p.m. in Purok 2, Barangay Lumbo, Valencia City, Bukidnon. Joint elements of the Valencia City Police Station, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU 10), City Anti-Drugs Special Unit Team (CADSUT), and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Bukidnon Police Provincial Office carried out a buy-bust against alias “Junjun,” 34, a laborer from Wao, Lanao del Sur.

Authorities seized seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 77.7 grams, valued at approximately ₱523,600, along with a coin purse used as a drug container, a mobile phone, and the marked ₱1,000 bill used in the operation. Police said the suspect, who was arrested for the first time, sourced the drugs from Wao for distribution in Valencia City and Cagayan de Oro City.

Less than an hour later, at 1:02 p.m., personnel of the Villanueva Municipal Police Station and the 1001st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 conducted a separate buy-bust in Zone 4, Barangay Katipunan, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. This led to the arrest of alias “Almar,” 24, a jobless resident of Bulacan who was reportedly staying in Marawi City.

Recovered from “Almar” were 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 160 grams, with an estimated value of ₱1,088,000, a sling bag, and the marked ₱1,000 buy-bust bill. Police said this was also the suspect’s first arrest, and that the illegal drugs were allegedly sourced from the same area as in the Bukidnon case.

Both suspects are now under police custody and will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PBGEN Rolindo M. Suguilon, Regional Director of PRO10, commended the units involved in the successful operations, stressing the police force’s continued commitment to dismantling the illegal drug trade in Northern Mindanao.
