ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police Regional Office (PRO) 9 has scored a major win in the fight against illegal drugs and criminality, arresting multiple drug suspects and confiscating over ₱388,000 worth of shabu in a series of operations conducted from August 9 to 11, 2025.

Authorities reported that the intensified operations yielded 51.12 grams of suspected shabu, valued at ₱388,416.00. All seized evidence has been turned over to respective forensic units for thorough examination, while the suspects are now under the custody of concerned police stations for appropriate legal action.

Police Brigadier General Eleazar P. Matta commended the dedication and professionalism of the operating units, crediting the success to inter-unit coordination, actionable intelligence, and community cooperation.

“These successful operations demonstrate the unwavering resolve of the PNP to safeguard our communities from the scourge of illegal drugs and armed criminality,” Matta said. “We urge the public to remain vigilant and to work with us by promptly reporting any suspicious activities. Together, we can sustain our momentum and ensure peace and safety across the Zamboanga Peninsula.”

The operations were conducted in alignment with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign under the leadership of PNP Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, and the PNP Core Pillar of Swift and Responsive Public Service.

PRO 9 reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in the region, calling on the community to actively participate in maintaining peace and order.
