Patikul, Sulu – July 7, 2025 — Two young male students were arrested in a police response operation conducted by the Patikul Municipal Police Station on the night of July 6 in Barangay Mauboh, Patikul, Sulu.
The operation, which took place at around 9:25 p.m., was led by PEMS Windsor Aguell under the supervision of PMaj Kier John Leano, and carried out in coordination with the 1404th Regional Mobile Force Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14-B.
Authorities withheld the names of the suspects, identified only as a 22-year-old and a 20-year-old, both unmarried and residents of Buotan, Barangay Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu.
Confiscated from the suspects were two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves weighing approximately five grams with an estimated street value of ₱500.00. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and other pieces of evidence.
The suspects are currently detained at the Patikul Municipal Police Station as authorities prepare to file charges against them for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police continue to intensify operations against illegal drugs across Sulu as part of their commitment to ensure a safer and drug-free community.
