Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur — June 28, 2025 — Authorities arrested two high-value individuals (HVIs) and seized an estimated ₱340,000 worth of suspected shabu during a successful anti-drug operation in Barangay Romarate, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.
The joint buy-bust operation was conducted at Purok Maharlika Overview by operatives from the Zamboanga del Sur Drug Enforcement Unit, Zamboanga del Sur Intelligence Unit, 1st Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, Aurora Municipal Police Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 9.
Confiscated from the suspects were approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱340,000. The seized drugs were immediately turned over to PDEA Regional Office IX in Pagadian City for laboratory examination.
The arrested suspects are currently detained at the Aurora Municipal Police Station as authorities prepare to file charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Roel C. Rodolfo, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 9, praised the swift and coordinated effort of the operating units.
“This successful operation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to eradicate the drug menace in our communities. Guided by the directives of our Chief PNP, Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, and anchored on the Core Pillar of Swift and Responsive Public Service, PRO 9 remains steadfast in its mission to apprehend drug offenders and uphold public safety,” PBGen Rodolfo said.
Authorities continue to intensify anti-drug operations across the region in line with the national campaign against illegal drugs.
