Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – June 10, 2025 — A high-value individual (HVI) suspected of illegal drug activities was arrested in a major anti-drug operation led by the Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) on Tuesday evening.

The suspect was apprehended at around 7:00 PM in Barangay Lilod Saduc during a buy-bust operation carried out by joint operatives from multiple law enforcement units. The coordinated effort included the Provincial Special Operations Group and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PSOG/PDEU), Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office (LDSPPO), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU-LDSPPO), 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Company, Maguindanao del Norte PDEU and PIU, Regional Intelligence Unit, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU BAR), and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Marawi City Police Station.

The suspect was found in possession of six knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately one kilogram. Authorities estimate the drugs’ street value at Php 6.8 million.

Other items recovered from the scene include:

  • One genuine Php 500 bill and 999 pieces of photocopied Php 500 bills used in the operation;
  • One black Rusi 125 motorcycle without a license plate.

Police confirmed that a physical inventory of the confiscated items was conducted onsite in accordance with legal procedures, and was witnessed by a representative from the Department of Justice, a media representative, and an elected barangay official.

According to law enforcement, the arrest was the result of a month-long intelligence and surveillance operation targeting the suspect.

The individual is now in police custody at the Marawi City Police Station, where appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
