Wao, Lanao del Sur – April 29, 2025 — A high-value drug personality was arrested during a successful buy-bust operation conducted by joint law enforcement units at Purok 3, Barangay Buntongan, Wao, Lanao del Sur on Tuesday noon.
The suspect, known by the alias “Aki,” was apprehended around 12:05 PM in an operation led by the PNP Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit 15 (PNP-DEG SOU-15), in coordination with the Wao Municipal Police Station, 3rd Platoon of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–BARMM, and with support from the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU).
Authorities recovered from the suspect two medium-sized plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one of which was the subject of the sale. The total confiscated illegal drugs were estimated to weigh about 100 grams, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 680,000. Also seized were marked buy-bust money used during the operation.
The inventory of confiscated items was immediately conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect, a representative from the Department of Justice (DOJ), and a local barangay official to ensure transparency and compliance with legal procedures. The suspect was also informed of his constitutional rights in a language he fully understood.
The seized drugs are now in the custody of the Regional Forensic Unit–BARMM for laboratory analysis. Meanwhile, the suspect is detained at Wao MPS for proper legal disposition.
PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), lauded all participating units for their coordinated effort and unwavering commitment in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“This accomplishment reflects our continued resolve to protect communities from the threat of illegal drugs through strengthened inter-agency collaboration,” Daculan said.
