Maguindanao del Sur — A new directive issued by the 105th Base Command of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) warns all members that failure to support the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) will result in automatic termination from the ranks of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF-MILF).
The order, which was circulated ahead of the upcoming elections, mandates all Department Heads, Brigade Commanders, Unit Commanders, and general members to strictly adhere to the party’s political directive: support and vote for UBJP-endorsed candidates.
The MILF leadership emphasized that noncompliance with this internal directive will not be tolerated. Any member found violating this party-line policy will be immediately removed from the official roster of the BIAF-MILF — no exceptions, according to the command.
However, this warning echoes a similar directive issued during the last election cycle. Despite the same firm language and threats of expulsion, no known commander or member was reportedly sanctioned or removed at that time for disobedience.
This raises an important question within the ranks and among observers:
Is there truly a system of accountability within the MILF for political defiance — or is this just another hollow warning?
