PUALAS, Lanao del Sur – A 29-year-old resident of Barangay Purog was arrested during a joint law enforcement buy-bust operation late evening on April 22, 2025, leading to the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs valued at approximately ₱170,000.
The operation, spearheaded by the Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office (LDSPPO), was carried out in collaboration with the 1403rd and 1402nd Regional Mobile Force Companies (RMFC) of RMFB14-A, the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of BAR, the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of LDSPPO, and the Pualas Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Authorities recovered two heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing around 0.39 grams and valued at ₱2,652, during the actual transaction. A subsequent search led to the seizure of 25 more heat-sealed sachets, with an estimated weight of 24.61 grams and a street value of ₱167,248. Also recovered were the marked buy-bust money and a brown leather coin purse.
An on-site physical inventory of the seized items was conducted in the presence of the suspect, a representative from the Department of Justice, and a barangay official to ensure transparency and compliance with legal procedures. The suspect was likewise informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood.
The arrested individual and all confiscated evidence were brought to the LDSPPO Provincial Headquarters for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of LDSPPO, commended the operatives for their commitment to the anti-drug campaign and emphasized the need for collective efforts in realizing a safer and drug-free community aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas vision.
