GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — The Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) intensified its campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms after authorities arrested a high-value drug suspect and a former Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member during the implementation of search warrants in Sultan Kudarat on Thursday, July 3.

The operation, conducted in Barangay Kapaya, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat, led to the arrest of two individuals identified only by their aliases, “Julie,” 35, who was listed by authorities as a High-Value Individual (HVI), and “Justine,” 23, a former CAFGU member.
Authorities said the coordinated law enforcement operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately six grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱40,000.
Also recovered from the suspects were a caliber .45 pistol, one magazine, and three live rounds of ammunition, adding firearms-related charges to the case.
Police said the seized evidence has been turned over for proper documentation and forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
The two suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
PRO-12 Acting Regional Director Police Brigadier General Alan B. Manibog lauded the operating personnel for the successful operation, emphasizing the police force’s sustained commitment to dismantling drug networks and preventing the proliferation of loose firearms across the SOCCSKSARGEN region.
“Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga at mga armas upang mapanatiling ligtas ang bawat komunidad sa SOCCSKSARGEN,” Manibog said.
The latest operation forms part of the Philippine National Police’s continuing anti-illegal drugs campaign, which targets high-value individuals and armed offenders believed to be contributing to criminal activities in the region.
Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting illegal drug activities and the possession of unlicensed firearms, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in maintaining peace, order, and public safety.
