Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat – Law enforcement authorities successfully carried out a search warrant operation in Purok Dalisay, Barangay Kapaya, Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat, resulting in the arrest of a High-Value Individual (HVI) and the confiscation of firearms and illegal drugs on March 7, 2025.
The operation was conducted by detectives of the Bagumbayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the 2nd Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (SKPMFC) in compliance with Search Warrant No. 25-452 issued by Honorable Judge Ferdinand C. Tugas of the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 19, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
Authorities confiscated the following items from the arrested suspect:
- One unit Caliber .45 pistol, COLT with Serial Number 415927
- One magazine of Caliber .45 pistol
- Five rounds of Caliber .45 ammunition
- Seven small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 1.1 grams, with a Standard Drug Market Value of P7,480.00
- One pink disposable lighter
- One brown pouch
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Bagumbayan MPS and will face charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Meanwhile, the confiscated pieces of evidence will be subjected to forensic examination at the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Forensic Unit (SKPFU) in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office Provincial Director, PCOL Bernard L. Lao, reiterated the commitment of law enforcement in curbing illegal firearms possession and the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province. He urged the public to support police efforts by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with authorities to maintain peace and order in the community.
