LORETO, Agusan del Sur — A family in Barangay Binucayan, Loreto, Agusan del Sur remains shaken and traumatized after an unidentified man allegedly broke into their home and threatened a pregnant woman with a knife in the early hours of June 13, 2026.
According to a social media post by Charo Rizaldo, the frightening incident occurred at around 1:06 a.m. while most members of the household were asleep.
Rizaldo recounted that prior to the intrusion, family members had already noticed unusual sounds coming from the roof and walls of their house. However, they initially did not realize that someone was attempting to enter their home.
The suspect reportedly managed to gain access to the residence and entered a room where Rizaldo’s pregnant cousin was still awake, using her cellphone because she was having difficulty sleeping due to her condition.
The woman was reportedly startled when the intruder suddenly appeared inside the room. The suspect allegedly covered her mouth and pointed a small knife at her, preventing her from making noise.
Despite the terrifying situation, the victim managed to call for help and scream, prompting the suspect to immediately flee the area before any further harm could be inflicted.
Family members said they remain uncertain about the intruder’s motive, noting that no belongings were reported stolen despite several valuables, including a cellphone being charged inside the house. They also could not determine whether the suspect was acting alone or had accomplices nearby.
The suspect was described as approximately 5 feet and 2 inches tall, thinly built, with his face covered and wearing only red briefs at the time of the incident.
The alarming encounter has left the family deeply disturbed, particularly because the victim is pregnant and could have suffered serious physical or emotional harm.
Following the incident, the family urged residents of Barangay Binucayan and nearby communities to remain vigilant, especially during nighttime hours. They advised homeowners to ensure that doors and windows are securely locked and to immediately report suspicious activities to authorities.
The family is also appealing to law enforcement authorities for assistance in identifying and apprehending the suspect to prevent similar incidents from happening to other residents.
As of this writing, authorities have yet to release information regarding the identity of the intruder or whether an official investigation has led to any potential leads.
