BUTUAN CITY — A young man suffered multiple slash wounds after a jealous ex-lover attacked him in Barangay Banza late Monday evening.
The victim, identified only as alias “Panday,” sustained three slash wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. The attack was allegedly carried out by a man known as alias “Boy Sundang.”
Barangay Banza Councilor Mordeno said the suspect, a resident of Barangay Mahogany, went to Galaxy Banza to confront and slash the victim. According to the councilor, the victim, who hails from Magallanes, had traveled to the area after being assured by a female friend that he could safely visit and drink in their locality.
However, the victim reportedly did not know that the woman had a former boyfriend—alias “Boy Sundang”—who allegedly became jealous upon seeing Panday. The attack occurred around 9:00 p.m.
Councilor Mordeno added that authorities believe the suspect may have been motivated by the idea that the woman was “giving” Panday to her ex-boyfriend. Law enforcement units are still searching for alias “Boy Sundang,” who remains at large following the violent incident.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward to ensure a swift resolution to the case.
