SINDANGAN, Zamboanga del Norte — Authorities have launched an investigation after a prank order incident involving the name of the Sindangan Central Fire Station resulted in financial losses and disruption to local businesses.

In a statement, the Sindangan Central Fire Station raised alarm over the unauthorized use of its office name to place fraudulent food orders, warning the public against similar acts that exploit government agencies.

The incident came to light after the station received an unexpected delivery of 36 boxes of pizza from Mr. Snow Pizza, along with additional food packages valued at approximately ₱11,000 from Familia Restaurant. Fire station personnel confirmed that no such orders had been made or authorized by their office.

Officials said the prank not only caused confusion at the station but also resulted in financial losses for the affected establishments, which had prepared the orders in good faith.

“This irresponsible act has caused inconvenience and financial loss to these establishments that are simply trying to earn an honest living,” the fire station said, condemning the misuse of its identity.

The incident has been formally reported to the Philippine National Police in Sindangan for proper investigation. Authorities are now working to identify the individual or group responsible for placing the fraudulent orders.

The fire station emphasized that such actions are not only unethical but could also carry legal consequences, particularly if proven to involve fraud or deliberate misrepresentation.

Local officials also urged the public to exercise responsibility and refrain from making prank orders or using the name of any government office for deceitful purposes, stressing that these acts ultimately harm small businesses and undermine public trust.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are calling on anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in holding those responsible accountable.
