ALAMADA, Cotabato — A 21-year-old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman was injured after being stabbed by a 14-year-old suspect following a heated altercation in Barangay Pacao in the early hours of Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

According to a police report, the victim—identified only as “Rodel”—is a resident of Barangay Macabasa and currently serves as the SK chairman of the said village. He was in Barangay Pacao at the time of the incident to attend a beauty pageant held as part of the barangay’s founding anniversary celebration.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was standing outside a residence with a friend after the event when the suspect, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, approached and confronted the victim’s companion. The confrontation quickly escalated into a heated argument.
Authorities said the victim attempted to pacify the two, but was instead punched by the suspect. Moments later, the minor allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack, while the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His current condition has not yet been disclosed.
In a follow-up report, Police Major Jun Jinete Napat, chief of the Alamada Municipal Police Station, confirmed that the 14-year-old suspect has since surrendered to authorities. The minor was turned over to the police by his parents later the same day.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Alamada, in accordance with procedures involving minors in conflict with the law.
Meanwhile, local authorities said that negotiations are ongoing between the families of the victim and the suspect in an effort to reach an amicable settlement.
Police continue to remind the public, especially during community gatherings and celebrations, to exercise restraint and avoid alcohol-fueled confrontations that could lead to violence.
