CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A total of 28 gasoline stations across Northern Mindanao have temporarily suspended operations due to fuel supply shortages, according to monitoring data released by the Philippine National Police Regional Office 10 on Friday, March 27, 2026.

The closures span multiple provinces and cities in Region 10, with the highest number recorded in Bukidnon at 19 affected stations. Other areas include two stations each in Camiguin and Lanao del Norte, four in Misamis Oriental, and one in Iligan City.
The data forms part of PRO-10’s ongoing “Monitoring of Oil Crisis,” which tracked 837 gasoline stations across the region. Authorities noted that most of the establishments that halted operations are small-scale fuel retailers, making them more susceptible to supply disruptions.
Despite the temporary shutdowns, PRO-10 reported no recorded complaints or cases involving hoarding, profiteering, or overpricing in any of the monitored areas, indicating that the closures are not linked to illegal activities.
In a press conference presenting the police force’s accomplishments, Cristopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of PRO-10, assured the public that strict monitoring remains in place to ensure stable fuel supply and adherence to existing regulations.
Abrahano emphasized that the suspension of operations among the gasoline stations is primarily due to supply constraints rather than deliberate withholding or manipulation of fuel stocks.
He added that PRO-10 continues to coordinate closely with the Department of Energy to address the situation and prevent further disruptions as the region faces ongoing oil supply challenges.
Authorities have yet to announce when affected gasoline stations are expected to resume operations, but monitoring and inter-agency coordination remain ongoing to stabilize fuel availability across Northern Mindanao.
