INDANAN, Sulu — Authorities confiscated an estimated ₱3.4 million worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested two individuals during a coordinated anti-drug operation in Barangay Buansa on the night of March 23, 2026.

The joint operation, led by the Indanan Municipal Police Station under the supervision of PLTCOL Francis Briones, in coordination with the Sulu Police Provincial Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sulu, resulted in the arrest of two alleged drug personalities following a successful buy-bust transaction at around 9:40 p.m.
Identified as suspects were Jilam Hadjili Bakil, also known as “Jul,” 36, tagged as a High Value Individual (HVI), and Moreno Idjas Asula, alias “Mors,” 21. Both are residents of Barangay Bud Siet, Panamao, Sulu.
According to police reports, authorities seized approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price estimated at ₱3.4 million. Also recovered during the operation were a genuine ₱1,000 bill used as marked money along with boodle money, an Android mobile phone, a camouflage sling bag, and a Honda CRF 250cc motorcycle without a license plate.
The suspects were immediately apprehended after the poseur-buyer successfully completed the transaction. Law enforcers said the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights upon arrest.
An inventory of the confiscated evidence was conducted on-site in the presence of required witnesses, in compliance with standard operating procedures.
The arrested individuals are currently detained at the Indanan Municipal Police Station. Authorities are preparing to file appropriate charges against them for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Officials emphasized that the operation highlights the continued collaboration among law enforcement agencies in intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs in the province of Sulu.
