GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Joint police operatives arrested two suspects and seized illegal drugs, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City, on February 14, 2026.

The operation was led by Police Station 7 in coordination with the Special Weapons and Tactics and Civil Military Force Company, Regional Intelligence Division 12, City Intelligence Unit, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1201st Company, and Task Force Gensan under the General Santos City Police Office.

Authorities served a search warrant for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, at a residential house in the area. The primary target of the operation, identified only as alias “Jemon,” was not present during the raid and remains at large. Police said a manhunt is now underway to locate and arrest the suspect.

However, operatives arrested two other individuals at the scene: alias “Toto,” 20, a resident of Barangay Fatima, and alias “Popoy,” 28, of Barangay Tambler.

During the search, law enforcement officers recovered five pieces of 9mm ammunition, assorted drug paraphernalia, and seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 16.3 grams. The illegal drugs were estimated to have a National Standard Drug Price of ₱110,840.

Police said the seizure indicated possible involvement of the suspects in illegal drug activities and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The two arrested individuals are now under the custody of Police Station 7. Authorities are preparing formal criminal complaints against them for violations of Republic Act No. 10591 and Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, through inquest proceedings.

Investigators said the recovered ammunition and other contraband will be turned over to the issuing court, while the suspected illegal drugs have been forwarded to the General Santos City Regional Forensic Unit 12 for qualitative and quantitative examination.

In a statement, Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12, commended the operating units for their successful and coordinated operation.

He reiterated the Philippine National Police’s firm stance against criminality and illegal drugs, stressing that intensified law enforcement operations will continue to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order in the region.

Authorities urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities, emphasizing that community support remains vital in the fight against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality.
