DAMULOG, Bukidnon – A domestic dispute turned deadly after a father allegedly stabbed his wife to death and critically injured their son during a heated argument at their home in Barangay Kiraon, Damulog town, Bukidnon, on the night of January 12, 2026.



The fatality was identified as alias Celia, 54, while the critically wounded victim was her son, alias Jayson, 34. Both are residents of the said barangay.
According to police investigation, the suspect, the victims’ husband and father, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Authorities said the couple had been drinking when a heated argument erupted inside their residence shortly after 8:00 p.m.
During the confrontation, the suspect was reportedly assaulted by his son, prompting him to grab a knife from a nearby table and stab Jayson in the abdomen. When Celia attempted to intervene and pacify her husband, she was also stabbed.
The two victims were immediately rushed to the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital. However, Celia was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, while Jayson remains in critical condition and is currently fighting for his life.
Police said the motive behind the crime was a domestic quarrel aggravated by alcohol consumption.
Following the incident, the suspect was restrained and turned over by a barangay kagawad and the chief tanod to the Damulog Municipal Police Station, where he is now in custody and facing charges.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and reminded the public of the dangers of alcohol-fueled disputes, especially within families.
