DAMULOG, Bukidnon – In a coordinated law enforcement effort, personnel from the 1003rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (RMFB10), together with the Damulog Municipal Police Station, Bukidnon Police Intelligence Unit, Bukidnon Provincial Highway Patrol Team, 2nd Bukidnon Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the 1004th Maneuver Company, successfully apprehended two individuals and confiscated PhP3.4 million worth of alleged smuggled cigarettes during an intensified checkpoint operation at the Regional Border Control Point in Barangay Omonay, Damulog, on January 13, 2026.

Authorities flagged down two vehicles driven by alias “Jojo,” 31, married, of Quezon, Bukidnon, and alias “Rez,” 22, single, of San Isidro, General Santos City. Upon inspection, several master cases of suspected smuggled cigarettes were found in plain view. The seized products were reportedly lacking the required government health warning labels, violating existing laws.
During the same operation, a third vehicle attempted to evade the checkpoint. A hot pursuit led authorities to the Damulog Public Bus Terminal in Barangay Poblacion, where the abandoned vehicle, identified by the two apprehended suspects as belonging to their companion, was recovered. Suspected smuggled cigarettes were found inside, with the key still inserted in the ignition.
A total of 80 master cases and 361 reams of Red Seven Kings cigarettes, estimated at PhP3,488,800, were seized along with three vehicles. The suspects, along with the confiscated items, were turned over to the Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental for appropriate legal action.
Provincial Director PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahan lauded the operating units for their vigilance and seamless coordination, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement to curb smuggling and illegal trade in the region.
This operation underscores the continuing efforts of Bukidnon authorities to maintain border security and enforce customs regulations, protecting both public health and government revenues.
